Sunday October 4 - Search for Captains
With the season now fast approaching and the magical 14 day average seeming to improve each day (touch wood) we are ramping up our preparations. While it's a little later than usual, a core component of that is to call for prospective senior captains to put their hands up for the season to come.
This season in particular, we have some announcements regarding leadership of some of the men's teams. Jason Oldfield, Gordon Meredith and Saul Wajntraub have all decided not to continue as captains of the 1s, 2s and 3s respectively. Fortunately, all three are continuing to play at the club, but this means we have some definite vacancies to fill. We would like to thank all three for their leadership and service last season. The time and dedication required is huge and we really appreciate and congratulate them for their efforts.
In particular, Jason Oldfield has been captain of the Men's 1st XI for the past 5 seasons. This is a huge effort in a difficult role, and to follow in the footsteps of his Dad as a long-term captain of the club is something he should be very proud of. Well done, Jase!
So, we looking for expressions of interest for all senior captain positions this season, and we are planning to field 5 men's teams and 2 women's teams this season.
We are looking for people who are confident to lead their team on the field, through their own ability and performance, while also having an understanding of the strategy and skill needed to be an effective game-day leader. Being able to build a rapport and maintain ongoing contact with your team with regards to selection and ongoing development will also be a key requirement.
Our captains will be crucial to the overall success of the season, especially given the level of ambiguity we face this season. So if you feel you have what we need, please put your name forward. Expressions of Interest should be in writing to our president, Rod Bartholomeusz email@example.com
Unfortunately with Covid creating so much uncertainty this season, time is of the essence. Please have your expressions of interest to Rod by this Sunday 11th October for us to make decisions as quickly as possible. If there's someone you think would be good for the role, please reach out and encourage them to apply.

Sunday October 4 - Membership fees
With the season coming up fast, we now need to turn to the topic of membership fees. We are trying to keep it as simple as possible and give you options.
Remember, if you have hit financial hardship as a result of Covid, please contact a member of the committee to discuss your situation and how we can help.
1. Upfront $420 for the season - nothing else to pay including finals (concession $350)
2. Direct debit $420 over 14 weekly payments - nothing else to pay including finals (concession $350)
3. Upfront $170 and then $20 per week (concession $100 and then $20 per week). Please note that if you take this option, you will be invoiced for the $170 ($100 concession) before the end of the year.

Please note that if you take option 1 or 2, you will be eligible for the weekly FREE DRINK as per last season (as long as Covid restrictions don't stop us doing this).
Under 11 and under 13 players - $255 for the season, nothing else to pay including finals and insurance
Under 15 and under 17 players - $325 for the season, nothing else to pay including finals and insurance
Junior fees MUST be paid through the playcricket website for insurance purposes:
If you have pre-paid the $55 deposit, please contact Tom Williamson to organise the remainder of the fee (please don't go through the playcricket website again)
Please note that junior players who play senior games will be charged a weekly fee of $10 for the games played.
