Monday Wrap 10th February - Grinberg Goes Big!

Updated: May 4, 2020

The Australia Day long weekend edition of the Dragons Monday wrap brought to you by HelloWorld Travel Bentleigh, the Travel Professionals!

Ahead of our Dragons Monday wrap, we would like to give a shoutout to BDCC junior Sebastian Grinberg, who smashed 92 off 46 balls this past weekend. It’s good to see the young dragon takes after his mother for cricketing ability.

Another note to our club members, our trivia night is coming this Saturday night. Cost is $20pp with tables of 8-10. Get down, support your club and have some fun with your teammates!

Senior Men's

Week one of two day action sees our Men’s 1st, 2nd and 4th XI’s in a strong position ahead of next week. There was plenty of drama for our 3rd XI as they tied with Murrumbeena. The theme across most XI's this weekend was 'chipping in' from most members of the side with Stephen Hill being the only player to go big with the bat.

1st XI: BDCC 248 vs St Brigids St Louis (Lasky 56, Gould 42)

2nd XI: BDCC 145 vs Port Melbourne 0/4 (Selig 58)

3rd XI: BDCC 8/149 tied Murrumbeena 8/149 (Molan 35, Ralph 3/32)

4th XI: BDCC 9/202 vs Le Page Park (Hill 84)

Senior Women’s

The weekend was tough for our ladies sides both suffering convincing losses. Women’s coach Merrin Pertzel showed grit and leadership in a defiant 57 on a weekend to forget for the ladies.

1st XI: BDCC 9/123 def. by Frankston 3/149 (Pertzel 57)

2nd XI: BDCC 7/37 def. by Parkfield 0/39
